Booking & Arrival - Seaham Hall Hotel Information
Before your stay

What time is check-in and check-out at Seaham Hall?
Hotel check-in is from 3:00pm, and check-out is by 12 noon on the day of departure.

Are check in and out times different for Coastal Lodges?
Yes - if you’re staying in one of our two Coastal Lodges, check in is available from 4:00pm, and we ask that you check out no later than 10:00am on day of departure.

Can I use the spa before check in?
Yes - residents are welcome to use the Serenity Spa facilities from 12:00pm on day of arrival until 12:00pm on day of departure. We advise packing swimwear in your hand luggage if you wish to use the spa before checking into your suite.

Can I change my check in/check out times?
Early check-in and late check-out can be requested in advance and are subject to availability. While these cannot be guaranteed, our team will always do their best to accommodate your request.

Do you take a deposit?
Online bookings
Our bed and breakfast or dinner, bed and breakfast packages require card details at the time of booking to guarantee your stay. If booking online payment will be taken from the card entered during the booking process, at midnight, 48 hours prior to arrival.
If you need to amend your card details, an email should be received 72 hours prior to arrival with a link to amend card details.
Phone bookings
If you have made a reservation over the phone, payment will be required for your room rate on arrival.
Sleep specials
Our sleep specials require immediate payment on booking.
Opening a room account
A £50 pre-authorisation is required for hotel guests on arrival to open up a room account for your stay, This is £150 for Coastal lodge guests. Depending on your bank, this may show as a pending transaction for up to 15 working days. The funds do not leave your account.

When can I check in and out of my suite?
Check in is from 3:00pm on day of arrival, check out is no later than 12:00pm on day of departure.

Do I need travel insurance?
We strongly recommend taking out travel insurance to cover unforeseen changes to your plans.
During your stay

How many people can our suites sleep?
All of our suites sleep 2 adults. If you require a suite to sleep three or more adults, please look at our Coastal Lodges - these are two bedroomed, one double and one twin.

Can you twin rooms?
Yes, this is possible - If you require a twin room, please request this in advance of your arrival. Please be aware that our Penthouse, Ada Lovelace Suite and certain Garden Suite's cannot be twinned.

Can children stay in the Hotel?
Children are welcome at the hotel. However, access to the spa is restricted to certain times and age limits apply. If you are looking to visit with children please call us to enquire about suitable suites, as not all suites can accommodate children on roll away beds. Roll away beds are provided at a cost £50 per night including breakfast. Please familiarise yourself with the children's swimming times.

Do you allow pets?
We are the perfect place to enjoy a stay with your pet – Whether you are looking for a relaxing break or a base to explore the Durham Heritage Coastline, your four legged friend will be treated to an in room pup pack and comfy bed in one of our Coastal lodges or Garden Suites.

What sizes are the beds?
All suites have Super King beds with Hypnos mattresses.

Is parking available at Seaham Hall?
Yes, complimentary on-site parking is available for all guests.

Do you have EV charging points, and how do I use them?
As part of our 'go greener' mission, we installed four chargeable EV charging points in the guest car park. Download the app to get started.
- Select your charge point and tap select next to the chosen charge point.
- Choose the number of hours you want to charge for, sign in or charge as a guest and confirm charge.
- When the light on the charge point flashes green, your charging session has started. Plug in your car and let it charge.

Do you have EV charging points?
Yes, electric vehicle charging points are available on site, subject to availability.

Is Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel?
Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and spa.
Spa & Wellness - Serenity Spa Information

Is spa access included with a hotel stay?
Spa access is included when you stay with us at Seaham Hall - you can use the Serenity Spa facilities from 12:00pm on day of arrival until 12:00pm on day of departure. We advise packing swimwear in your hand luggage if you wish to use the spa before checking into your suite.

Can I become a member of the Serenity Spa?
Yes - We do offer spa memberships, you can find out more about the benefits of joining Serenity Spa via our website or speaking to a member of the team during your visit.

Can non-residents use Serenity Spa?
Yes, non-residents can enjoy Serenity Spa by booking a spa day, treatment or becoming a Serenity Spa member.

Do you offer spa packages?
We offer a range of spa packages at Serenity Spa, which are subject to change depending on the time of year. You can view and book all current spa packages on our Spa days page.

Can I use the spa if I have a medical condition?
If you or anyone in your party has a medical condition, please speak to the team directly before making a booking.

Can I join someone on a spa day to have lunch with them?
Spa guests have a meal included in Geko, if outside guests wish to join for lunch please let us know as soon as possible. We are unable to guarantee availability on the day.

Can I use the spa if I’m pregnant?
Some spa facilities and treatments may not be suitable during pregnancy. Please inform us at the time of booking so our therapists can advise on appropriate options. If you are over 12 weeks pregnant, we offer special mum-to-be treatments designed especially for pregnant women. We also advise that you use the main pool only.

Do I need to bring anything with me?
Just swimwear. Towels, robes, slippers and toiletries are all provided in the changing rooms.

Do I need to arrive early for my spa day?
Spa package guests are advised to arrive 30 minutes prior to package start time, as you will be given a tour of facilities upon arrival.

Is there a dress code in the spa?
Guests are provided with robes, towels, and slippers for use during their spa visit. Swimwear is required in all spa areas.

Do you offer a poolside drinks service?
No - to ensure the safety of our guests and staff, we don’t offer a poolside drinks service or allow alcohol to be consumed outside of the Geko restaurant. Water and ice tea are available and guests are welcome to help themselves to the refreshments on offer.
Spa facilities

Are spa facilities open to the general public?
To enjoy Serenity Spa, you must be a hotel resident, spa members or be joining us for a spa day.

Are there age restrictions on who can use the spa facilities?
Children under the age of 18 can use the pool as long as they are accompanied by an adult (18+). Children aged 16 or 17 can access treatment areas if they are accompanied by someone over the age of 18. This includes use of gym equipment.

Can children use the swimming pool?
Children are welcome to use the pool during the allocated children’s swim times which are 08:30am - 10:00am and 04:30pm - 06:00pm.

Do I need to pay to use a locker?
No - all lockers are operated via a 4 digit pin, which you are welcome to use during your visit.

Do you offer just use of the facilities without lunch or treatments during the day?
All of our packages include a food and treatment or a food element. We do not offer just access to the facilities unless you are a hotel guest.
Dining information

Are mini bar items chargeable?
All drinks and snacks in your suite are complementary and will not incur any additional charges, but please note that our mini bars do not include alcoholic drinks.

Do you offer afternoon tea?
We serve afternoon tea in The Dining Room 12.30pm - 2.30pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - £10 per person deposit required at the time of booking. If you are using a voucher please call directly to book and be ready to quote your voucher code.

How many dining options do you have?
We have two restaurants - The Dining Room located within the hotel itself and Geko which can be found in the Serenity Spa. Please see further information for each restaurant below.
The Dining Room

- No robes to be worn for breakfast

Geko Restaurant
- Relaxed dining - some guests may be in robes

We welcome both residents and non-residents to dine with us, but would always recommend booking in advance.

What time is breakfast served?
Breakfast is served in The Dining Room from 07:30am - 10:30am. If you would prefer to eat breakfast in your suite then please fill out the breakfast card in your room the night before, please be aware there is a tray charge for breakfast served in-room (breakfast room service is available for our Coastal Lodges at 8:00am only).

Do you offer Breakfast Room Service?
Yes, you are welcome to enjoy breakfast in bed when you stay. There is a £10 tray charge when ordering Breakfast Room Service.
Lodge Breakfast Room Service is only served at 8am.
Gift voucher information

Can I use multiple vouchers in one visit?
Yes, you are able to use multiple vouchers in a single visit.

Can I use my voucher for something other than what it is intended for ?
Vouchers which are sold for a specific experience are not transferable to other experiences within Seaham Hall.

How do I buy gift vouchers?
Gift vouchers can be bought online here. Alternatively, you can pop into the hotel to buy one in person - just speak to a member of the reception team.

How long are gift vouchers valid for?
12 months from date of purchase. We do offer extensions for exceptional circumstances. We also offer the option to purchase a voucher extension, with gives an additional 3-month validity.

What can I use monetary vouchers for?
Monetary vouchers can be used towards any services offered at Seaham Hall. Please note that a monetary voucher has to be used in full in one visit - no change can be given, nor can anything be carried over to a future booking.
Cancellations & Policies

What is your hotel cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms vary depending on the rate and package booked. Full details are provided at the time of booking and in your confirmation email.
Our bed, breakfast and dinner, bed and breakfast rates have a 48 hour amendment and cancellation policy. All special sleep offers are bookable online only and are pre-paid at the time of booking, non refundable and non-transferable

What is your spa cancellation policy?
For spa bookings, full payment will be taken at the time of your spa reservation. Should you wish to cancel your reservation a 50% refund will be available up to 48 hours prior to arrival. Cancellations made within 48 hours will result in full loss of payment.
